These are real people with real needs.

Through your genorosity, we were able to assist these families.

In 2007 we assisted several families in need:

The S. Family's house burned down in December 06. Our Vice President, Laura Hart found the family a new house to move into. The Rent was $75 more than they were currently paying and more than their budget allowed. Through donations, we were able to cut a check to the S family for $400 in December for a new deposit. Throughout 2007 we sent the S family $75 per month to help them pay their rent.

A. is a widower who is 64. She was under insurance through her husband's work but when he passed away, his former employer could only provide coverage for a short time. She had been paying $400 per month for her own insurance. Cobra would have allowed her to keep her coverage intact but that would have increased her costs to over $750 per month. Laura found out about this person's situation, and we assisted her by paying $350 a month to keep her covered under Cobra until she reached 65. Four months after we started doing this for Anne, she found she had cancer. If we had not stepped in, she would have had no coverage at all.

D’s house caught fire and sustained a lot of damage. He had lived in that house since he was born in 1948. He had no insurance. On a retiree’s income, he was trying to get the house back up to code, so that he could move back in. Jack is one of my friends. I found that he was doing a lot of the work on the home to get the house livable- and was spending money out of his own pocket to assist in the endeavor. I was able to help Jack raise enough money to complete the project so that D could move back in.

In 2008 we assisted several families in need:

E. is 20 years old and works in a restaurant. She collapsed at work and they found that she had cancer. She will need surgery. She is at home and living with her mother, who is on a fixed income. We were able to send her some money to make ends meet in January 08- but what can I do next month? It depends on the donations that I receive.

M. is a single parent. Due to an abusive relationship, she moved her two kids out of the home she was living in. They literally left with the clothes on their backs. They had no furnature. Her kids were sleeping on the floor. She is working and holding a steady job. Through the generosity of several people, we made a donation of some furniture and clothes. We also made a donation of cash that allowed her to get her car back (which had been repossessed).

J. is a 60 year old single woman who had fallen behind on her rent. She has no family that is able to assist her. She had recently started a new job, but was several weeks away from her first pay check. She was a couple of weeks from being evicted when we were able to help her get caught up on her rent and pay 1 month in advance.

C is a coworker whose husband battled cancer for many years.  By the time he was placed into hospice care, their financial burden had grown considerably.  By making a donation of cash to her at that time, they were able to meet some needs associated with his medical costs.

The "H" family's business recently failed due to the economy.  We were able to make a donation to them at a time of great need.

Y is a single mother of four currently living in a trailer with no floor.  We were able to make a donation to a local church to help pay for the materials needed to assist in reflooring her home.

In 2009 we assisted several families in need:

The good folks over at WALK THEN RUN Productions (Travis Navarra) helped us with a benefit this year that has helped benefit several families.

RB is a 44 year old father of two.  He recently found out he has terminal cancer.  We were able to assist his family with money to help them with his hospice care.

The S family has a 5 year old daughter who has had seven surgeries.  We were able to assist them with travel expenses to Denver's Children Hospital.

The C family has a son who suffered a severe setback after surgery to implant a brain shunt.  We were able to assist them with funds to travel to and from Scottish Rite Hospital in Atlanta.

In 2010 we assisted several families in need:

P donated one of his kidneys to a former college professor.  We made a donation to him to assist with travel to and from the hospital during the procedure.

After serving his country for many years in the US Army, S  found out in IRAQ that he had cancer and had to have his leg amputated.  We assisted with funds to help him modify his home to suit his needs.  Like the true hero he is, he instead donated the money to his unit fund to help families of his platoon.

After her car wreck, L needed money to help get caught up on her Mortgage.  We provided enough to catch her up, so she could keep her house.

In 2011 we assisted several families in need:

We donated money to assist with 4 Cleveland, TN families after the Tornado hit and destroyed their homes.

We assisted S with money to help pay medical bills for her son.

We helped T with funds to help his wife with her medical bills stemming from her battle with lupus.

We assisted R with funds to help her after her shoulder surgery.
